As you depart New Orleans, your tour begins with an engaging narrative from Glen, covering topics like Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana’s wetlands, the Mississippi River, and the unique roots of Cajun and Creole cultures. These stories set the stage for your visit to some of the most iconic plantations in south Louisiana.

A private plantation tour with Henley’s Private Tours is more than a scenic drive — it’s a meaningful journey through one of the most historically rich regions in the South. Traveling along Louisiana’s great Mississippi River road, you’ll visit landmark estates while learning about the cultural and environmental forces that shaped the region.
Pickup your group at your property/hotel – 9am sharp.
Tour on the way out to plantation about Lake Pontchartrain, wetlands in Louisiana, Mississippi, Cajun and Creole cultures, etc.
Stop and drop off at Laura Plantation (Tour tales about 90 minutes and talks about plantation life and history of this plantation, including slavery)
Stop for lunch (either an authentic Cajun care or Oak Alley restaurant)
Stop at Oak Alley plantation (We’ll walk the grounds of one of the most beautiful plantations in the world and talk about the property and Live Oaks)
Drive back to New Orleans to drop your group at you property takes about 60 minutes.
Total tour and transportation is about 6 hours.
We should arrive back at your hotel/property about 3 pm.
